FOOD 4 PAWS is a pet support program offered to Meals on Wheels clients.

Seniors tend to lose things that previously occupied their time and gave their life purpose as the years roll by.  Caring for a pet brings pleasure and helps boost morale, optimism, and sense of self-worth. Pets can keep seniors active and alert as they age providing opportunity to be playful, to exercise, and to laugh. But, for many seniors, caring for a pet means the tough decision between buying food and medicine for themselves or buying food and medicine for their pets.

FOOD 4 PAWS helps alleviate stress for low income seniors caring for a pet and allows them to enjoy their four-legged companions without worry.
Clients of Meals on Wheels who meet income eligibility guidelines can benefit from receiving a monthly supply of pet food, minor veterinary services, and occassional flea/tick treatments for their pets.

To register for the program or to make a donation, please call the agency and ask for Christine Sulick.
